Storyline & Synopsis

Lillian, is made to marry Mr. Stevens, by her mother after the death of her husband in order to clear the families debt and retain the family’s sophisticated mode of life. She knows nothing about the man she is to marry except that he too has lost his wife. On arrival to the house, she meets a withdrawn Mr. Stevens who has frozen time to seem like his wife is still alive. The clocks on the walls have not moved since the hour of his late wife, Elizabeth’s, death. Mr. Stevens has a locked room which he does not permit anyone to enter but himself.
