Storyline & Synopsis

Rene and Emil are two young men from vastly different backgrounds, each seeking something in the other’s world that is missing from his own life. Emil seems to have everything handed to him on a silver platter, yet he repeatedly disappoints his father and tests the patience of those closest to him. He meets Rene, a drug dealer, hoping to learn a thing or two from him; Rene, however, tries to steer Emil away from the mistakes he himself can no longer undo. "Idioot" is a creative initiative by young Estonian filmmakers, born of a desire to tell stories about youth with honesty and boldness. It is a story of vulnerability, love, and self-discovery. The film takes us on a journey that forces the characters to confront their own fragility and limitations. Produced with the support of a successful Hooandja crowdfunding campaign, this 48-minute film is a landmark achievement and an inspiring watch for all young film enthusiasts.
