In ten years, the Street Parade has turned the city of Zurich into a techno mecca: what began in 1992 as a small underground demonstration is now the largest scene event in Europe, attracting over a million participants from all over the world. "The largest and most peaceful demonstration ever held in Zurich," as the city police boasted, was not always uncontroversial and was even once threatened with being banned.
