Damon Corbett

Biography

Damon Corbett is an emerging filmmaker from Northern Ireland, currently studying Screen Production at Ulster University. His work is driven by a passion for storytelling and a fascination with the creative process itself, often exploring the struggles, pressures and unexpected possibilities behind bringing ideas to life. In 2026, he completed his experimental psychological short film *Writing to Death*, combining live action, screen recordings, digital distortion and experimental sound to explore creative pressure, perfectionism and the pursuit of validation. The project developed through multiple stages of production and post-production refinement, reflecting his resourceful approach to filmmaking and his interest in finding creative possibilities within the tools and footage available to him. He also worked on *Whispers of the Deceased*, a short film produced independently in Northern Ireland, contributing as a co-director and co-producer while assisting with script development and revisions. The production provided further experience across filmmaking, collaboration and the practical challenges of bringing an independently produced project from development into production and post-production. Now continuing his Screen Production studies at Ulster University, Corbett is developing further work across scripted film, documentary and live production while building experience in writing, directing, production, script supervision and post-production. His filmmaking interests span comedy, drama, psychological storytelling and experimental cinema, with a particular interest in the relationship between creativity, identity and the filmmaking process itself.
